Busy, busy, busy....

Hi......everyone!!!!
The title really says it all for me at the moment.
It has been quite some time I didn't update my blog.
Lately I am really busy with my school works, children's tuition
and doing household chores.

Definitely, no break for me this year since my two children will be
sitting for important exams. My friends, sisters keep on calling for vacation.....
nope, nope, nope not now ........
wait till November~that's my best answer for them:(
I'm very sure they are not happy but for me that's the best
I can do at this moment
for my children
and I must be with them all the time until their exam over:)

I noticed something unfamiliar about me lately too,
I tend to forget things easily huh like forget where i put my keys,
left my mobile phone behind....
and yah i know there are so many things on my head especially
my children's schedule always my first priority.
Now, I jotted down every details
what should i do in the memo galaxy...(HP)
and found it is easier way to remember.

Happy Teacher's Day to all the dedicated teachers.

as well as to all my college lecturers and university lecturers. I have kind of a feeling or desire
to meet back some of my former teachers. And I had met some of them and they are proud to
see I am one of them~ "teacher":).
Thank you so much for imparting knowledge and life skills to me. I will not be who I am today

Welcome NOVEMBER...

Hello November......
It's the second last month of 2012, can you believe it? This year seems to be wrapping up pretty quickly and I am looking more excitement. This year has passed by so fast ~ feels as though life has been on a fast forward mode*_*
There are so many upcoming events. First, on 2nd Nov my school annual dinner will be held at Alson Klana Resort, Seremban......fyi our theme this year is quite complicated. Why?

Yup.................Arabian theme ^0^

Already decided what to wear for my school annual dinner. Will be sharing my annual dinner photos with you all, okay.

Next, My little darling, Tanneish's birthday on 11th Nov. Plan to celebrate on Diwali night with parents, siblings, SILs, BILs, nephews, nieces and our relatives at my parents's house in Segamat
I am very sure will be the great party:)

After that, the great celebration for Hindus~Diwali~ which falls on 13th Nov. Hubby is not here yet:(  He is still at offshore in Miri. Hopefully he'll be here with me and children for this lovely and colourful day:)

Good news for teachers and students~ School holiday is going to start soon.
Holidays mean jolly days:) Almost 7 weeks.  Yahoooo....
It means no morning rush hours and my dear children: we can sleep late
in the morning! The best part I'm going to be full time mother:)

But wait, there will be one week course somewhere in Port Dickson for me as I am the library and media teacher. My dear children~no worries....you all going to spend time with your lovely grandparents during my course.  I am sure my dear children
will enjoy their stay there.

Hope November brings abundance of  joy for me, my family and you too:)

Green rolls

Me with my working colleagues

Yummy
Kuih Ketayap

This is a traditional kuih that you can find easily at roadside stalls in Malaysia. It's a rolled up pandan flavoured pancake with gula melaka and coconut filling. Pandan gives the pancake a lovely green colour and a wonderful fragrant flavour.

Today, my friend was teaching her form one students how to make 'kuih ketayap' during her 'home science class'.  I was in the next class.
I love kuih ketayap but never try to make this at home. So, I with few teachers took the chance to learn today
 since we had free time:)

*Want to learn to make this 'kueh'. Here it goes.....

Ingredients

Coconut Filling

2 Cup Grated Coconut
60 – 80 g Gula Kabung / Melaka ( Palm Sugar ) or you can use normal sugar
¼ Cup Coconut Milk

Pandan Pancake

1 Cup All Purpose Flour
1 Large Egg
½ Cup Pandan Juice ( 2-4 pandan leaves blended with ½ cup water and strained )
1 Cup Coconut Milk
2 Tbs Vegetable Oil
2 Pandan Leaves, tied together to use as a brush
A pinch of Salt

Method

Coconut Filling

1. Melt the sugar with coconut milk.
2. Once the sugar has melted, coat the grated coconut with the mixture and make sure it's not too dry.

Pancake

1. In a mixing bowl, whisk flour, egg, pandan juice, coconut milk and salt together.
2. Heat a non stick pan and brush it with oil using the pandan leaves brush.
3. Pour about a half cup of batter and move the pan around to spread the batter evenly. Use the same technique as making crepes.
4. Once cooked, remove from the pan and fill it with the coconut filling.
5. Roll the pancake like 'Popia'.
6. Repeat the steps until you've used up all the batter.

Don't forget to try yah:)

Busy Weekend with S.E.I.C

Just back from SEIC at SMK Tunku Besar Burhanudin, Seri Menanti........mmmm wondering what is SEIC stands for? Well, SEIC stands for State English in Camp.
Organized by Jabatan Pendidikan N.Sembilan.  This camp was held for almost 3 days 2 night. There were 144 participants from nine different districts in Negeri Sembilan. Quite tiring but really enjoyed. Meeting up with old and new friends - sharing our views and having nice time with them.
This camp was held to motivate students in using the English language through some activities. There were so many activities had been organized such as:
  • ice breaking
  • station games
  • field trip to The Seri Menanti Palace
  • treasure hunt
  • variety nite

"The Seri Menanti Royal Museum was built in 1902 - 1905. It was originally a palace for the Negeri Sembilan Royal family. It is situated in the Royal town of Seri Menanti, about 50 km from the capital, Seremban. This five storey wooden palace, was built using no nails or screws. The carpenters at the time used wooden pegs so that the palace would be able to withstand the times. It also uses 99 solid timber pillars, soaring 65 feet. Black in colour, the palace also has intricate flower motifs beautifying the regal palace.

Treasurer Hunt- hunting for clues:)

Happy Teacher's Day

Happy Teacher's Day to all the Dedicated Teachers:)
Blessed all the teachers for the never ending effort to ensure our future generations acquire the knowledge.

I guess every teacher is familiar with William Arthur Ward's famous quote:

The mediocre teacher tells
The good teacher explains

The superior teacher demonstrates

The great teacher inspires

So which category of teacher do I fall into? Naturally, every teacher would want to believe that they are in the last one!

To my students, ex-students, my classmates, my college mates, my friends, my colleagues, my neighbours, my parents, my sisters and to everyone-  thank you so much for your messages and wishes today:)

What the best way to start a teacher's day by having your students rushed to your table early morning to wish you a Happy Teacher's Day and shoved some cards and gifts......thank you, thank you  very much, my dear students. I love teaching you all.

Selamat Hari Guru!!!!!!

Sacrifice is greater than love,
character is greater than beauty,
humanity is greater than wealth,
but nothing is greater than a TEACHER!!!!!!!!!
