My hobby-Collecting Paper Money

 Hi to everyone!!!!!
I love to collect old coins, candle holders (previous post), fridge magnets,
key chains and paper money-old and new:)
Mmmmm today, I'm going to share one of my fascinating hobbies
Collecting Paper Money

My father was the main person who helped me developing this hobby, as he had pursued this unknowingly. At the beginning, I started collecting old coins when i was in primary school somewhere in 1980s. Then only i started with paper money.  Actually, I have more collections of oil coins rather than paper money. As time passed by, responsibilities increased and I couldn’t find much time to work delicately  over my collection. After I married, my husband showed his interest too.  He was so surprised to see all my old coins and paper money. He suggested me to continue this beautiful collection. So now my husband and I are sharing this hobby together.  Since My husband travels a lot for work.........so that's the credit to get more banknotes/ paper money from other countries.  But now I have pretty much of old coins as well as paper money.
I feel proud enough that I never backed down  with such nice collection that could be cherished for centuries. In fact this is a never ending journey for me and my husband too. A part of it, my eldest son (eleven years old) is starting to show the interest of starting this collection too. G0od start, my boy:)
For me, this is a very cool hobby that can fill you with the beauty of the world around us. Paper money or banknotes tell unique story of its art, people, history and geography.

Let's look at some of my paper money/ banknotes collections ......

My first Paper Money given by my father..........love this so much
This currency was that introduced by the Japanese across all of Borneo after their invasion in 1941, and would have been in use until the Japanese surrenders across the territory in August and September 1945-the source from Wikipedia

This lovely piece was given by one my students since I used to share my hobby with my students. This currency is 1985-1989 series.(Info from Banknotes of the Yugoslav dinar)

This paper money was old One ringgit Malaysian Currency

1987. old SINGAPORE One Dollar Banknote, (Ship series)

There is so much to learn and enjoy with collecting paper money and I am really having a great time.

Have a nice day.......:)
