Happy Teacher's Day

Happy Teacher's Day to all the Dedicated Teachers:)
Blessed all the teachers for the never ending effort to ensure our future generations acquire the knowledge.

I guess every teacher is familiar with William Arthur Ward's famous quote:

The mediocre teacher tells
The good teacher explains

The superior teacher demonstrates

The great teacher inspires

So which category of teacher do I fall into? Naturally, every teacher would want to believe that they are in the last one!

To my students, ex-students, my classmates, my college mates, my friends, my colleagues, my neighbours, my parents, my sisters and to everyone-  thank you so much for your messages and wishes today:)

What the best way to start a teacher's day by having your students rushed to your table early morning to wish you a Happy Teacher's Day and shoved some cards and gifts......thank you, thank you  very much, my dear students. I love teaching you all.

Selamat Hari Guru!!!!!!

Sacrifice is greater than love,
character is greater than beauty,
humanity is greater than wealth,
but nothing is greater than a TEACHER!!!!!!!!!

Be careful what you say......

There is enormous power in words.

Be careful what we say to someone.......
even if we’re “just kidding” they may not see it that way…we may be bringing them down. Just because someone smiles and laughs when we make fun of them, doesn’t mean it doesn’t hurt them. We won't know, right.
The book of Proverbs says, "There is death and life in the power of the tongue."
Destructive words can cause deep wounds; they may be the weapons that destroy someone's desire to continue trying - or even their life and have a lasting impact on them.
BUT
If we have words of kindness, praise, encouragement.......give away to someone, somebody abundantly
These kind of Words can lift someone up and help them make it through the day.
HAVE A NICE WEEKEND!!!!

Special trip to Miri

Goodbye April, Hello May!

Today  is a brand new month so I'd like to wish everyone a great start to the
month of May.
Happy Labour Day!

Back From Miri.........Sarawak!!!!!

View from Mega Hotel of Miri Town
Three days in Miri. First day just went for 'jalan-jalan' and shopping only. Bought some bags, beaded purses and beaded bangles. At night, my hubby and I had 'ikan bakar' (BBQ Fish) which was quite famous there for our dinner.

The next day we started our journey to Niah Cave as early in the morning. It took about almost one hour
from Miri to Niah Cave.
I had a great time exploring the caves as well as fascinated by the surrounding flora and fauna in the park.
To walk into the caves, one has to walk along the plank walk as far as 3.5km from the archaeology museum. Along the journey, one will get to cherish and enjoyed the flora and fauna surrounding of which is certainly a fascinating experience for me. I took my sweet time strolling along the plank walk where I took some pictures and listened to chirping birds. Awesome!!!

Exploring Niah Cave was fun and adventurous:) For Malaysian, you have to pay RM10 per entry. For foreigners you have to pay RM20 per entry. Don't forget to bring your own torch light or head light.. the Cave is dark inside. If you happened to forget, you can also rent the torch light at the counter located at mouth cave before across the gate, each of it charge RM5. And please do bring your own drinking water since  you have to walk at least 5.5km to the cave. (not to the painting cave).

Each person has to pay RM1 (one way - means you have to pay total RM2 for two ways) to cross a short distant of river. You can choose to swim over, if you dare to do so..^_^ he he

This is followed by a 45-minute walk along a 3.1km plank walk to reach the entrance of the Great Caves.

A beam of light. If you want to catch this beautiful moment, you have to be there before noon.

Nice na ^o^

You will reach Gan Kira (Moon Cave) where you have to pass by the dark passage (quite scary but mmm very adventurous - a flashlight is essential to find the way. From Gan Kira, there is another cave, it is painting cave...........but so sad, it is closed for some renovations.

That evening, we headed to Canada Hill to view a beautiful view of sunset. Canada Hill is a limestone ridge overlooking Miri City and offering excellent views of Miri and its surrounding. Situated on top of Canada Hill, the Grand Old Lady is the first oil well in Malaysia. It represents the petroleum history of Miri which is almost a century old. This oil well is no longer production and it has been declared a protected historical site by the Sarawak Government. There is an observatory platform where visitors can have an excellent view of Miri City. Next to this oil well is the newly completed Petroleum Science Museum.

After a tiring trip from Niah Cave that night we decided to have Indian food for our dinner. So hubby took me to Zaika an authentic North Indian Cuisine in Miri City. We had a pleasant dinner at Zaika. The interior part of the restaurant is just as sophisticated as the name of the restaurant itself. Dimmed lighting blend with Indian instruments playing softly through your ears give a delightful ambiance to the restaurant.
While waiting for our orders to arrive, we were served with this Indian cracker eaten (like pappadam) with 3 types of sauce. I don't know what they called it. One of it , most likely pudina cuttney. Taste good:)

Have a blessing day!!!

My Little Darling

"Isn’t it so funny how with your first baby you are so excited to hit all the milestones".

Rolling over, sitting, crawling, walking, talking. After my first girl, Livya, then with my boy, Suhash. Now again, I’m enjoying watching all those with my third ‘darling’, Tanneish.

Even Mondays have blessings

I know sometimes Monday's can seem daunting, especially for a work week, but even Mondays have blessings to count. There are always things to be grateful for in life, even on a Monday.
I have some particular things of my own to be grateful for today:)
  1. Having home cooked meal for dinner with my kids.
  2. I'm feeling much better with my flu and cough.
  3. I’m grateful for my lovely car that used to "send" me and my kids safely:)
  4. Surrounded by loving family and beautiful friends.
  5. I am thankful to be alive another day.
  6. The sunshine and clear skies making for a beautiful evening. (Able to snap this picture below while sending my son for tuition this evening).
An evening in Seremban

Most Touching Story!

Amazing day to touch your heart in the morning ....
An Extremely Sad Story  that  had touch my heart deeply AND  will touch your heart  too.

As you know that we all are just a pass-on on this earth and we don't carry anything when we leave....

There was once this guy who was very much in love with his girl.
This romantic guy folded 1,000 pieces of paper cranes as a gift to his girl.

Although, at that time he was just a small fry in his company, his future doesn't seem too bright, they were very happy together. Until one day, his girl told him she was going to Paris and will never come back. She also told him that she cannot visualize any future for the both of them, so they went their own ways there and then... Heartbroken, the guy agreed. But when he regained his confidence, he worked hard day and night, slogging his body and mind just to make something out of himself.

Finally with all the hard work and the help of friends, this guy had set up his own company. You never fail until you stop trying. One rainy day, while this guy was driving, he saw an elderly couple sharing an umbrella in the rain walking to some destination. Even with the umbrella, they were still drenched. It didn't take him long to realize they were his girl's parents.

With a heart in getting back at them, he drove slowly beside the couple, wanting them to spot him in his luxury sedan. He wanted them to know that he wasn't the same any more; he had his own company, car, condo, etc.

He made it! What he saw next confused him, the couple was walking towards a cemetery, and so he got out of his car and followed ... and he saw his girl, a photograph of her smiling sweetly as ever at him from her tombstone and he saw his paper cranes right beside her...

Her parents saw him. He asked them why this had happened. They explained, she did not leave for France at all.

She was ill with cancer. She had believed that he will make it someday, but she did not want to be his obstacle ... therefore she had chosen to leave him. Just because someone doesn't love you the way you want them to, doesn't mean they don't love you with all they have .
She had wanted her parents to put his paper cranes beside her, because, if the day comes when fate brings him to her again ... he can take some of those back with him... Once you have loved, you will always love. For what's in your mind may escape but what's in your heart will remain forever.

The guy just wept.....The worst way to miss someone is to be sitting right beside her knowing you can't have her, see her or be with her ever again.........hope you understand. Find time to realize that there is one person who means so much to you, for you might wake up one morning losing that person who you thought meant nothing to you.

My Challenge

We all making lists, especially if we live by our own ‘organizer’ and rules. Well.. I’m talking about myself.. lol... Mmmm ...Very Good:D  I’m making those entire lists to keep track of all the things that I need to do, to make progress in certain areas of my life and to be reminded of them at the appropriate time. Having memo/s  in the hand phone as a reminder that’s another part to make me alert of what I suppose to do on time.
Haha well, again about me..... in term of savingI’m still a failure at savings. Ok, this is an area that I need LOTS of improvement. I'm thinking of this matter seriously and trying my best jump outside the box…....

Story About Life of Parents

While I was reading all the old messages today, there are a lot of beautiful messages still in my inbox which I used to receive from my friends and my sisters. This one beautiful message was still in my inbox too and of course I have no heart to delete it and I won’t. I received this email quite some years already. But I thought I would share this with all of you out there.

Pencil: I'm sorry.
Eraser: For what? You didn't do anything wrong.

Pencil: I'm sorry because you get hurt because of me. Whenever I made a mistake, you're always there to erase it. But as you make my mistakes vanish, you lose a part of yourself. You get smaller and smaller each time.
Eraser: That's true. But I don't really mind. You see, I was made to do this. I was made to help you whenever you do something wrong. Even though one day, I know I'll be gone and you'll replace me with a new one, I'm actually happy with my job. So please, stop worrying. I hate seeing you sad.

I found this conversation between the pencil and the eraser very inspirational. Parents are like the eraser whereas their children are the pencil. They're always there for their children, cleaning up their mistakes. Sometimes along the way, they get hurt, and become smaller / older, and eventually pass on. Though their children will eventually find someone new (spouse), but parents are still happy with what they do for their children, and will always hate seeing their precious ones worrying, or sad.

All my life, I've been the pencil. And it pains me to see the eraser that is my parents getting smaller and smaller each day. For I know that one day, all that I'm left with would be eraser shavings and memories of what I used to have.

This is to all the parents and children out there.

A day with Mr Lazy

I did something this afternoon that I haven't done in a long time--I napped. After a bit of a cold relapse and an exciting/exhausting day yesterday, I listened to my body as it begged me to be kind.
Happy Sunday to me!   And To All of U too:)

Let Do Something Out of Nothing

I have so much to do. I always have so much to do. In fact, I have piles and piles of unfinished organizational chores on top of the regular, every day chores. Just to list them, think about them or look at them makes me exhausted.
Hope: I was able to accomplish, at least a little bit, after this post.
